Students who live in the Freeport area have a chance in May to test out a "Biking School Bus."

The program is modeled on the "Walking School Bus" used in other portions of Decorah.  But, as its name implies, the "Biking School Bus" brings together bike-riding students.

The Biking School Bus will be in operation Friday mornings and afternoons during the month of May (May 6th, May 13th, May 20th).   The morning route will begin at Freeport Park at 7:00 a.m. and arrive at St. Benedict's School by 7:35 a.m. and at Carrie Lee/Decorah Middle School by 7:50 a.m. The afternoon route will begin at Carrie Lee/Decorah Middle School at 3:00 p.m., pick up students at St. Benedict's School at 3:15 p.m. and arrive back at Freeport Park by 3:50 p.m.

The students are accompanied by adult volunteers, with Amber Seitz and Katrina Brickley volunteering last Friday.
