Upgrades to the Decorah Clinic air conditioning unit approved

It's about to get cooler in the Decorah Clinic in the future.

The Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees has approved spending $130,000 to allow for greater temperature control throughout the Decorah Clinic by adding 10 tons of cooling to the existing Clinic and create 10 new cooling zones.

The zones will include 4 nurse stations, 5 procedure rooms, and 1 sterilizer room.  The 10 new zones will use a single variable refrigerant compressor and will be capable of heating and cooling control in each zone.

The new system will be capable of heating in one zone while cooling in another zone at the same time.  The compressor is inverter-driven for energy saving and for quiet operation.
