It's official.  B.A. Burrito, a chain of three restaurants in the La Crosse area, has signed a contract to rent space in the former Bob's Standard building on College Drive in Decorah.

Owner Ryan Johnson has been looking for a place to expand his restaurant chain--and selected Decorah as the first out of state location.

The new owner of the former Bob's Standard building, Tade Kerndt of Decorah, says they're hoping for a late summer opening for B.A. Burrito, but won't be able to predict an opening date for a couple months.

Johnson got into the restaurant business by opening three Quiznos Sub restaurants in the La Crosse area.  He then created the B.A. Burrito Co. brand and opened its first restaurant in 2008, then added two more locations in the La Crosse area.

Johnson told the La Crosse Tribune, "I'd like to make (B.A. Burrito) a regional brand and eventually a national one."
