Every law enforcement vehicle in Winneshiek County now has a new first aid kit.  The Decorah Fire Department applied for and received a grant from the Decorah Community Foundation to buy new first aid kits.  The balance of the cost to complete the project was provided by Winneshiek County EMS and Winneshiek Medical Center.

On Wednesday Decorah Fire Department officials Mike Ashbacher and Steve Vanden Brink delivered first aid kits to the Law Enforcement Center.

The first aid kits are the same in every vehicle, so they can be easily used by any law enforcement officer in Winneshiek County.  When a kit has been used, the Winneshiek County Ambulance will have a fully stocked kit on board, and the used kit will be exchanged for the fully stocked kit.  The law enforcement vehicles will have a fully stocked first aid kit at all times.
