Decorah School Board reaches agreement with teachers group

The Decorah Education Association and the Decorah Community School District have reached a tentative agreement on a 2016-2017 master contract.

The terms of the contract call for a 3.26 percent increase in total costs for next school year, with salaries, health care coverage, IPERS and SSI payments included.

The tentative contract also changes the language concerning parental leave.  Under the new wording, families experiencing adoption can take 15 days of accrued sick leave for paid parental leave for the adoption of a child who is school aged or younger.
