Decorah man faces criminal charges for incident near Crossroads Academy

A Decorah man has been taken into police custody following a report of a man with a gun in the area of Crossroads Academy on Vernon Street in Decorah.

Police were called shortly after 10:00 Tuesday morning with a report that a man had been seen in the area making suicidal comments and gunshots had been heard.

Police arrived and found 58-year-old Joseph Gallagher at his home at 12 Railroad Avenue and took him into custody.  Police say official criminal charges are pending.
