Decorah Police say they have wrapped up their investigation into a car--pedestrian accident on Wednesday, April 20th.

18-year-old Shania Kelly and 18-year-old Kasey Thompson were running on the sidewalks of College Drive and crossed over Heivly Street with the walk signal.  That's when a car driven by 29-year-old Jameson Sampson of Decorah hit both runners.  Kelly was knocked to the ground.  Thompson did not fall down, but both reported sustaining some scrapes, cuts and bruises as a result of the accident, although they declined medial treatment.

Sampson reported to police that he stopped and asked both Kelly and Thompson if they were OK and both said they were.

When Kelly and Thompson returned to Decorah High School, they reported the accident to high school officials, who then notified the police.

Decorah Police say they will not be filing charges against Sampson.
