Bids will be taken later Wednesday morning on construction of a new airport hangar at the Decorah Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded 90/10 funding for the project, with the City of Decorah paying up to $60,000 and the federal government paying up to $540,000.
Original plans called for a six stall hangar to be built, but the specifications for Wednesday morning's bidding call for a base bid of five stalls, with alternate bids for six stall and seven stall hangars.
Meanwhile, City of Decorah officials are applying to the Iowa DOT for additional funds to help replace old pavement on the runways, taxiways and aprons at the airport. Around 880 yards of concrete would be replaced if the Iowa DOT awards the 85/15 grant to the city.
