Winneshiek County supervisors held a brief public hearing Monday on a proposal to redude the amount of maintenance 310th Avenue in Orleans Township will receive in the future.
A plan to declare a portion of 310th Avenue a "Class C" road--thereby maintaining it as a road, but putting up fencing to limit access to the road--has the support of several adjoining property owners.
But County Engineer Lee Bjerke was out of town for Monday's public hearing and supervisors want to discuss with Bjerke a proposal to install a "low water crossing" on the road in place of a bridge that has been declared structurally deficient.
Supervisors delayed any action on the road until at least next Monday
