Proposed new scoreboard

Renovations to Decorah Viking Stadium will begin this summer and are expected to cost around $400,000.

The project will be funded through the combined efforts of the Decorah Community School District ($300,000 in PPEL/SILO funds), the Decorah Viking Athletic Booster Club ($50,000) and private donations (another $50,000).

Track resurfacing, new asphalt areas and adjusted fencing around the track will cost an estimated $300,000, while a new scoreboard in a new location and a new sound system will cost an estimated $100,000.

In order to help fully fund the renovation project, Decorah High School and the Decorah Viking Athletic Booster Club are seeking private donations to help complete the project. All donations will be made to the Decorah
Viking Athletic Booster Club and will go towards the purchase of the new scoreboard and integrated sound system.

Donors will be recognized with a sign posted on the back of the football bleachers. In addition, any donors giving $1,000 or more will receive name recognition on the LED screen of the new scoreboard for their giving level during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school year. This would be in addition to platinum level sponsorships of the Decorah Viking Athletic Booster Club.

Donation levels will be:
Gold Medal - $5,000 and above
Silver Medal - $1,000 - $4,999
Bronze Medal - $999 - $1

If you would like to donate to this project, please contact Andy Nimrod, Aaron Hafner, Bob Naslund, Dan Fretheim or contact Adam Riley at Decorah High School.
