Luther awards five special scholarships

Five Luther College students have each received a $1,000 Steven Mark Anderson Scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year.  The scholarship benefits Luther College students involved in the TRIO Achievement Program.

Recipients are Jack Benson, Filiberto Lopez-Garcia, Nana Quainoo, Emily Schroeder and Andrew Whalen.  Jack Benson is a sophomore at Luther majoring in physics with a minor in mathematics.  Filiberto Lopez-Garcia is a California resident who is completing his first year at Luther.  Nana Quainoo is from Ghana and is studying biology and chemistry.  Emily Schroeder is a junior with a double major in exercise physiology and psychology.  Andrew Whalen is a sophomore from St. Paul who plans to become an Emeregency Room Nurse.
