ArtHaus in Decorah and Northeast Iowa Pollinator Partners are asking for submissions for a new community exhibit entitled "Pollinate," set to open at ArtHaus on June 3rd and run through July 21st.
The exhibit will focus on the theme of pollination. Artists are encouraged to think broadly about how they will engage with the theme. According to ArtHaus, "Beetles, bees, butterflies, bats, birds, flies, wasps, wind, water and even people can all be agents of the continuation of life on our plant by bringing the life force of one being to that of another."
The goal of this exhibit is to address the question "How do two distinct entities merge to create something new?"
All forms of art will be considered, with the exception of free-standing sculptures.
Works should be delivered to ArtHaus on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m or by appointment from May 20th through May 27th. For more information, contact Jenni at 563-382-5440 .
