Decorah City Manager to get an $18,000 pay raise

The Decorah City Council has approved a proposal to raise City Manager Chad Bird's salary by $18,197 starting July 1st.

Bird had been getting paid $97,712 a year.  Under the plan approved Monday night by city council members, there will be a $12,000 increase in the pay steps and Bird will be changed from a Step #8 salary to a Step #10 salary.

Bird thanked the city council members for the pay raise and added, "I'm very appreciative of the support I have had."
