Three WMC nurses complete University of Iowa on-line training

Three staff nurses from Winneshiek Medical Center have been awarded certificates for completing the Iowa Online Nurse Residency Program offered by the University of Iowa College of Nursing.

Amanda Heying, Kim Kuennen and Paula Womeldorf have successfully completed the program, which is designed to help recent graduates transition into their new roles as professional nurses.

Based on best practices and the latest research, the program is delivered using interactive, online modules combined with either live webinars or on-site discussion sessions. Curriculum topics include transition from student to professional nurse; communication with patient care providers; responsibilities of the professional nurse, including evidence-based practice; and decision-making at the point of care.
