Iowa Counties magazine features article about Pole Line Road project near Decorah

Iowa Counties magazine, which is intended for county government officials across the state, has an article about a Winneshiek County road project in its April issue.

The article shows before and after photos of Pole Line Road.  It also includes an article by Winneshiek County Engineer Lee Bjerke, who discusses the funding of Pole Line Road. 

Winneshiek County had approved use of local property tax dollars to begin the repaving.  When the ten cent increase in Iowa's gas tax was approved, county officials were able to use the extra state aid instead.

Local property tax money then was used to help pay to replace several bridges.
