Decorah man whose e-mail led to Monday's school lockdown faced previous criminal charges in 2011

Decorah resident Bruce Divers Junior now faces two counts of 2nd Degree Harassment and one count of 3rd Degree Harassment for allegedly sending threatening e-mails to teachers at Carrie Lee School.  All Decorah school buildings were put on lock down Monday following the receipt of the e-mails.

It will not be the first time in court for the 42-year-old Divers.  In March of 2011 he was charged with five criminal counts, including possession of controlled substances, child endangerment, possession of pseudoephedrine and possession of lithium.

In November of 2011 Divers entered a "guilty" plea to the charges.  He was given a 10-year prison sentence--which was suspended--and was placed on five years probation.  That probation would have ended in November of 2016.

The Decorah Police Department on Tuesday said an arrest warrant was served on Divers on Tuesday while he was in the Winneshiek County Jail, accusing him of a probation violation.  As a result, Divers is being held without bail at the jail.

Divers will also have to find a new attorney to represent him in court because his previous attorney filed a motion Tuesday to withdraw from representing Divers in future court proceedings.
