Suspect in custody on school threats

The Decorah Police and the Decorah Community School District have released the following statements regarding an incident that prompted a "lock down" status for the Decorah Schools. School will resume as normal Tuesday morning.

From Decorah Police Department:

On 04-09-16 the Decorah Police Department began an investigation into the harassment of two Decorah School District teachers.  The suspect (Bruce Divers Jr) had sent an email to the school expressing his displeasure with the content of some of the curriculum at the school.  On 04-11-16 Divers posted information on Facebook threatening the welfare of the same two teachers.  Divers was arrested for Harassment - 2nd Degree, a serious misdemeanor.  (In all, Divers was charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Harassment and one count of 3rd Degree Harassment)

The Decorah Community School District worked closely with the Decorah Police Department and the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office on the matter.

School will be on time with no lock down procedures in place (a normal day) on Tuesday, April 12th.
