Luther Dance Marathon brings in over $53,000

The recent Luther College Dance Marathon fell short of its fundraising goal, but still brought in a lot of money for children's programs at the University of Iowa Hospitals.

The third ever Dance Marathon in the Regents Center brought in $53,094, with money going to the Children's Miracle Network.

People attending the 12 hour event stand for the entire time as a sign of solidarity with the kids who will benefit from the funds raised.  The event culminates in the final hour with the "big reveal" of the fundraising total.
