Two arrested by Decorah Police following traffic stop

Two Northeast Iowa residents were jailed earlier this month following a traffic stop April 2nd at 6:15 p.m. on Highway 9.

Officers charged 26-year-old Heaven Valdez of Protivin with First Offense Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and with Child Endangerment.

A passenger in Valdez's car, Robert Gilliland of Charles City, was charged with 3rd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both Valdez and Gilliland were arrested and taken to the Winneshiek County Jail.
