Winneshiek County will be spending just over $400,000 in July to buy two heavy duty trucks for the Highway Department.
The 2017 Freightliner trucks were the choice of Highway Department employees out of the bids received by the county.
The Winneshiek County Highway Department has 17 trucks--and the last time it bought a new truck for that fleet was six years ago--in 2010. Winneshiek County supervisors Monday unanimously approved spending $400,290 for two new trucks that will replace highway trucks that were bought in 1997--which now both have over 200,000 miles on them.
