Winneshiek Medical Center might sign a contract with the third Medicaid managed care organization

Iowa's new privatized system of Medicaid oversight has been in effect for just under two weeks now.

Winneshiek County Medical Center has signed contracts with two of the three managed care organizations--United Healthcare Plan of the River Valley and AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa.

Now WMC Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff says the hospital, clinics and Mayo physicians on staff at WMC might be accepting a contract with the third managed care organization, Amerigroup.

Luloff says any questions about Medicaid coverage can be answered by WMC's financial counselors by calling (563) 382-2911.
