The Decorah Public Library will be installing a new children's art gallery in the children's section of the Library.
As a result, the library is looking for children (in pre-K through grade 8) to create 8 x 10 pieces of 2-dimensional art to be matted and displayed in black wood frames. Colorful paintings, drawings, prints, or collages are welcomed.
The art must depict the theme of the 2016 Summer Reading Program, "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!" Artwork should depict families reading and playing outside together throughout the Decorah community.
Artwork will be on display from June through August. Children can claim their pieces at the library after September 1st. Children should sign their artwork.
All artwork should be submitted to the Decorah Public Library's Children's and Youth Librarian Joan Roach by May 10th. An art opening will be held for the community in late May.
