Instead of repairing a bridge, Winneshiek County will close a road

Winneshiek County supervisors on Monday decided that it just doesn't make any financial sense to replace Bridge #121 on 310th Avenue. 

Instead, supervisors are planning to hold a public hearing on their proposal to lower the road to a Class C road--which would give them the power to install gates at the end of the road and lock the gates to traffic if necessary.

The public hearing on the proposal has been set for Monday, April 26th, at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room at the Courthouse.  The proposal would affect 310th Avenue from its intersection with 325th Street to its intersection with 335th Street.
