Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies responded to two separate one-vehicle accidents recently.

The Sheriff's Office says 17-year-old Jade Hotvedt of Decorah was eastbound on Pole Line Road Sunday, March 20th, around 6:30 p.m. when he drifted to the right and entered the south ditch, then over-corrected and entered the north ditch, hitting a sign and rolling over.

Hotvedt was taken to the Cresco hospital.  The accident caused over $10,000 in damages.

Earlier in March, 28-year-old Chad Landis was traveling on County W-14 around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10th, when he failed to negotiate a curve.  His car left the roadway, entered a ditch and rolled over once before coming to rest again on its wheels.

Landis could not be located at the scene of the accident.  He was later ticketed for failure to maintain control, failure to report an accident, having an open container of alcohol and not having proof of insurance.
