Chamber awards "Friend in Agriculture" and Ag Scholarships

Ag Business Award: Hovey LP Gas, Inc. team

Two "Friend in Agriculture" awards have been given out by the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce's Ag Committee.
 
Farm Service Agency employee Vicky Hinsenbrock has been given the Individual Award.  Hinsenbrock is the Farm Loan Manager for the Decorah office of the Farm Service Agency.  Hovey LP Gas, Inc. has been given the Business Award.  Hovey has been supplying propane to customers in northeast Iowa and southern Minnesota since 1991.

Two Ag Scholarships were also awarded.  Garret Hemesath from Decorah High School and Michael Nettinga from Northeast Iowa Community College were this year's scholarship award winners. Hemesath is the son of Keith and Linda Hemesath of Decorah and Nettinga is the son of Merrill and Maryls Nettinga of Hull, Iowa.   Each year the Ag Committee of DACC awards a scholarship to an area high school student and to a Northeast Iowa Community College Student. The students must be enrolled or planning to be enrolled in an agriculture related field of study.
