The cost of tuition at NICC is going up slightly.

The school's Board of Trustees has approved an increase of $6 in tuition and $6 in fees per credit hour beginning with fall semester 2016.  That means in-state tuition per credit hour will rise from its current rate of $154 to $160.

Out-of-state students will experience an increase from the current rate of $159 to $165. NICC has not increased its fees since 2004.

"There is still a lot of uncertainty in regard to what NICC can expect in state general aid for the next fiscal year. NICC received no increase in state general aid for this fiscal year," explained NICC vice president for finance and administration Dave Dahms.  "We are trying to keep a level of affordability for our students while ensuring the long term sustainability of what the College needs to provide appropriate education and training."
