"Friends of Decorah Parks" are looking for more volunteers

Posted: Tue, Mar 22, 2016 7:10 PM

Friends of Decorah Parks are looking for more individuals or groups to be "Adopters"--people who sponsor an area where they will pull garlic mustard.

In the photo above, Ellen Macdonald is teaching Denise Tapscott how to identify, pull, and dispose of garlic mustard.  Denise and Matt have just adopted a small plot in Ice Cave park.  They will return two or three times between now and mid-May.

People can train individually or in groups.  They also can try the harlic mustard pulling once and then decide whether they want to become an Adopter.

If you're interested, email ellenmac11@gmail.com or phone (563) 419-0339 and leave a message.

Mary Lewis will be taking out a group of people Saturday morning.  Contact Friends of Decorah Parks if you want to come or if you want to arrange a time at your convenience.
