The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department has released details of a traffic accident that closed Locust Road for a time on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say a semi pulling an empty box trailer was blown over onto its side due to extremely high winds at the time. 61-year-old Steven Schultz of Castalia suffered minor injuries in the accident. The box trailer and semi received $15,000 in damages.
The Decorah Fire Department, First Responders, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance and Bill's Towing all responded to the accident scene. Locust Road was closed and traffic detoured for awhile due to the accident.
