Posted: Tue, Mar 8, 2016 5:01 PM

Community leaders from throughout the Midwest will visit the Luther College campus this June for a three-day workshop, "Leadership for Community Health Improvement."  The goal of the workshop is to share best practices in community health innovation to bring about improvement initiatives to enhance the health and wellness of local communities.

Scheduled for June 15th through 17th, the workshop will focus on food systems development, increasing opportunities for active daily living, school intervention policies, working with early childhood centers and youth leadership.

Said Luther College Center for Sustainable Communities director Jon Jensen, "We can accelerate improvements in health by developing and implementing action plans for residents to gain easier access to healthy choices."

Workshop participants will participate in skills development activities, complete an action plan for an individual community project, and engage in the learning community after the workshop.
