City of Decorah officials attend Legislative Day in Des Moines

Three representatives of the City of Decorah participated in the Iowa League of Cities' Legislative Day at the State Capitol last week.

City council member Kirk Johnson, City Clerk/Treasurer Wanda Hemesath and City Manager Chad Bird spent time speaking with State Senator Mike Breitbach and State Representative Darrel Branhagen and listened to briefings by the Iowa League of Cities, as well as speeches by Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds and Secretary of State Paul Pate.

Among the issues discussed at the statewide meeting were Tax Incremental Financing, liquor licensing and economic development.
