Winneshiek Medical Center reported a net financial gain of $238,824 in January, which brings its net gain for the first seven months of the 2015-2016 fiscal year to $2,359,985.
WMC Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff says January financial figures at the hospital and clinic were fairly close to budget overall. But for the first seven months of the fiscal year, the hospital's Operating Gain of $1,983,544 is 44 percent higher than the hospital had budgeted.
Luloff says Winneshiek Medical Center this fiscal year has been outperforming other Critical Access Hospitals in Iowa by quite a bit. WMC's total margin of 6.9 percent is far ahead of the Iowa Critical Access Hospital average of 1.8 percent total margin.
