February in Decorah was warm and dry

The average temperature this February in Decorah was nearly 5 degrees warmer than the average February temperature over the last 123 years.

That's the summary from Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz, who says the temperature averaged 24.8 degrees in Decorah in February--4.8 degrees higher than normal.

Temperatures in Decorah set record highs on February 27th (60 degrees) and February 28th (59 degrees).  Compared with February 2016 25 Februaries in Decorah have been warmer and 97 Februaries colder.

Just 0.79 inches of precipitation fell in Decorah during February, 0.16 inches less than average.  Decorah received 6 inches of snowfall on February 2nd, but had precipitation only four other days in February.
