State Representative Darrel Branhagen of Decorah honored by law enforcement group

The Iowa State Sheriffs' and Deputies' Association has given Decorah State Representative Darrel Branhagen its "Gold Star Award" for leadership on public safety and law enforcement issues in Iowa.

Branhagen was one of just five people to receive the award from the ISSDA.

Recipients are selected by sheriffs and deputies of the ISSDA Legislative Committee and Board of Directors.  No more than two members each of the Iowa House and Senate receive the award each year.

Branhagen was presented the award at a legislative reception in February in Des Moines.
