Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department announces the results of a drug investigation

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says on Friday its officers conducted a joint investigation with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement into a drug case. 

Two search warrants were served--one in Winneshiek County and the other in Fayette County.  As a result of the search warrants, 86.6 grams of cocaine were seized along with unlawfully possessed prescription drugs and other drug paraphernalia items. 

24-year-old Isaac Elias Nieto of Waucoma and 27-year-old Alberto Reyes of Hawkeye were arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail. 

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says the investigation into the matter is continuing, with further charges pending.
