Decorah Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 around 10:00 a.m. Monday.
Police say an Iowa Department of Transportation vehicle had parked along the south shoulder of the highway with amber lights flashing. A car driven by 73-year-old Donald Bockenstedt of Cresco approached from behind and because of another vehicle in the next lane, could not move to the left and sideswiped the IDOT vehicle. Bockenstedt then lost control of his truck and drove into a ditch. The accident caused $4,000 in damages.
Also Monday, Decorah Police stopped a vehicle on Bluegrass Drive and arrested the driver, 35-year-old Lisa Schroeder of Fort Atkinson, on a charge of Driving While Barred and another charge of Possession of Marijuana. She was taken into custody and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.
