Midwest Living magazine has changed the operation of its "Greatest Midwest Town Contest

Midwest Living magazine's contest to select the "Greatest MIdwest Town" will end on Monday, February 29th.  Decorah is one of 12 Midwest communities in the running for the designation--and has been either first or second in the on-line polling.

But the operation of the contest has changed slightly since it started in January.  Midwest Living had been posting the vote totals of each community on its contest page, http://www.midwestliving.com/vote but now those totals have disappeared.

Attempts by decorahnews.com to reach any Midwest Living spokespersons have failed.  However, the contest page describes the change as a decision "to ramp up the suspense."

The suspense will be around all the way until this coming summer--the magazine says it won't announce the winner of the contest until it publishes its July/August issue.
