The Decorah City Council Monday night approved two ordinances that clear the way for the development. The first rezones the property at 702 East Water Street from M-2 (limited industrial) to R-3 (multiple-family residential). The second vacates right-of-way on what had previously been plotted at an extension of Oak Street.
The approvals will allow Decorah realtor Jayme Folkedahl to proceed with the purchase of the property. He plans to begin construction of the first two of the four planned buildings in the spring. There will be three different floor plans offered--one with 1,232 square feet, another with 1,333 square feet and the largest with 1,567 square feet.
