"Stuff the Bus" contest will raise food for local pantries

It's here--the first annual "Stuff the Bus Food Drive," held by the EARL Public Transit program of Northeast Iowa Community Action.

Organizers want to get enough non-perishable food and hygiene items donated that they can stuff a bus full of the contributions.

Donations will be received at Quillin's, Fareway in Decorah and the Oneota Food Co-op.  Donations can also be dropped off at Winneshiek County Recycling, the KVIK studios on Water Street in Decorah and Java John's Coffee House.

Cash and check donations also will be accepted--take them to the EARL Public Transit offices at 305 Montgomery Street in Decorah.

The food drive will end Sunday, February 28th.
