Vesterheim's Folk Art School is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year by offering over 60 classes in woodworking, fiber arts, rosemaling, food traditions, knifemaking and metalworking, writing, and jewelry making. Did you know that if you're a Winneshiek County resident, you can take one of the classes for half price if space is available a week before the class starts?
The 50 percent discount is available to any year-round resident of Winneshiek County. Stand-by students will be notified about availability of class openings one week before the starting date of the class.
For instance, you can take a class in kolrosing for 50 percent off in March--if space is available.
Another possibility is a writing class being taught March 11th, 12th and 13th by author Kathleen Ernst of Middleton, Wisconsin.
A complete class list can be found at http://vesterheim.org/folk-art-school/. Register for classes by calling (563) 382-9681.
