NICC student from Decorah is visiting with state legislators Wednesday and Thursday

Decorah resident Manuel Guzman Vello, a student in NICC's Automotive Technology program, will be at the Iowa Capitol Wednesday and Thursday.

Vello has been selected to attend the 28th Annual Iowa Association of Community College Trustees Student Legislative Seminar, which will take place at the Capitol.

The theme of this year's seminar is "Representing Yourself."  The seminar will discuss the legislative process and also college leadership.  Sessions will include "Tips for Effective Networking," "Representing Your Constituents," "Caucus 101," "Campus Safety" and "No Labels: A New Route to Political Solutions."
 
Vello will also get a chance to tour the capitol and meet one-on-one with local legislators.
