The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum in Mason City on Friday will begin a display of pottery created by Decorah artist Dean Schwarz and his sons, Gunnar and Lane.
In recent years, after a back injury, Schwarz has had to restrict his activities in the creation of wheel-thrown pottery. The pots that he now creates are a collaborative effort of himself and his sons, Gunnar and Lane Schwarz, in which the latter two do the wheel-throwing, while Dean Schwarz designs the pots' surfaces and applies the glazes.
"The Artwork of Dean Schwarz With His Family and Friends" will run through Saturday, April 2nd, in the museum's Kinney-Lindstrom gallery. It features pottery, paintings, jewelry, and photographs by the Schwarz family and friends.
