Norwegian Ambassador Kare Aas is in Decorah Thursday and Friday.
Aas started working at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983, when he left his position in Oslo as Political Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Aas served from 2005 until 2007 as Norwegian Governor to the International Atomic Energy Agency. From 2008 until 2010 he was the Norwegian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. He presented his credentials to President Obama at the White House on September 17th of 2013 and has served since that time as the Norwegian Ambassador to the United States.
Ambassador Aas will speak at 9:30 a.m. Friday in room 102 of Olin Hall. The event is open to the public with no charge for admission.
Ambassador Aas also will be spending time at Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum during his visit to Decorah.
