51-year-old Jeffery Kuennen of Spillville on Thursday entered a guilty plea to charges filed against him following a November 4th incident at his home.
Sheriff's Deputies were called to his home in November because of a report of a man with a loaded handgun. Kuennen then allegedly fled from law enforcement officers with a loaded handgun in a 1994 Ford Pickup. He eventually pulled over for law enforcement and was taken into custody without incident.
Kuennen was charged with two felonies and four aggravated misdemeanors--two felony counts of Interference with Official Acts and four aggravated misdemeanors of Aggravated Domestic Assault, Aggravated Child Endangerment, Aggravated Eluding and Aggravated Carrying Weapons.
Appearing in court in Decorah on Thursday, Kuennen entered a guilty plea to four charges--interference with official acts, aggravated misdemeanor domestic assault, carrying weapons and eluding. Kuennen was sentenced to 50 days in jail, two years suspended prison sentence, two years probation, $250 fine, one year driver's license revocation and is required to complete the Iowa Domestic Violence Treatment Program.
