Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum now has four new members on its board of trustees—Maren Johnson, Jane Kemp, Kurt Meyer and Signe Wrolstad-Forbes.
Maren Johnson is an assistant professor of Nordic Studies at Luther College. At Luther, Johnson teaches courses in Norwegian language, culture, film, and literature.
Jane Kemp is a Decorah resident. Kemp served as a Luther College librarian from 1981-2012. She also was the supervisor of the Luther College Fine Arts Collection, where she focused special attention on the art of Norwegian-American artists.
Kurt Meyer lives in Mitchell County, Iowa. He is a consultant to non-profit organizations, assisting them with strategic planning, community relations, and fundraising.
Signe Wrolstad-Forbes has deep family connections to Vesterheim. Her father, Merald Wrolstad, was the publisher of Vesterheim's newsletter. Her aunt, Harriet Wrolstad, and their cousin, Marwin Wrolstad, both served on Vesterheim's board and played major roles in support of the organization. She lives in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
