Decorah School District's finances are solid

The latest audit of the Decorah School District's financial records shows no significant errors and no inconsistencies.

Key financial highlights for the 2015 fiscal year included that the school district increased its total, net position by $955,958 from fiscal 2014.

The District had less expenses and received more revenue from charges from services.

Once again, the biggest expense for the school district in 2015 was employee costs, with salaries and benefits accounting for 76 percent of all spending.
