When there is a very heavy downpour of rain at the Decorah School District's bus barn at 801 Pole LIne Road, some gravel from the parking lot can wash down the hill and into the parking lot of a plumbing company next door.
Monday night Decorah School Board members agreed they wanted to find a solution to the erosion problem--and learn how much it will cost and who will pay for it--before they sign a contract renewal with their landlord, Bruening Rock Products.
The school district has negotiated the major terms of the three-year contract extension--how much it will cost and what it will cover. But school board members Monday night agreed that since the renewal won't go into effect until July 1st, they have a little bit of time to resolve the parking lot erosion issue.
