"Military Advanced Education & Transition," a publication which ranks colleges and universities on their support of former members of the military,  has named Northeast Iowa Community College a "Top School" in its 2016 Guide to Colleges & Universities.

The guide, available online at www.mae-kmi.com, presents results of a questionnaire of the military-supportive policies enacted at more than 600 institutions including private, public, for-profit, not-for-profit, four-year and two-year colleges.  MAE&T evaluated colleges and universities on their military culture, financial aid, flexibility, general support, on-campus support and online support services.  Each school's performance rating in the above categories is shown on a dashboard that enables prospective students to quickly target schools that follow best practices in military education, and servicemembers may then enroll at the school based on further academic or career considerations.
