Accident causes $8,000 in damages

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says an accident on Wednesday caused $8,000 in damages.

Deputies were called to County Highway B-16 around 11:00 Wednesday night.  19-year-old Abby Drish of Elma lost control of her car after hitting the shoulder.  She overcorrected, crossed the center line and struck a car driven by 29-year-old Whitney Timp of Decorah.

Drish was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.  Neither driver was injured.
