2015 wasn't a good year for Decorah's bald eagle camera and the Raptor Resource Project that runs it.
A severe thunderstorm came through the area in July and broke off the tree limb on which the eagle's nest rested. The eagles survived, but the nest tree was only a stump where the nest had been. Volunteers put together a new nest in a nearby tree for the eagles--and they seem to have accepted it.
But the biggest blow came in late July, when RRP Director Bob Anderson died. It was Anderson whose vision led to the webcam feed of the eagle's nest, which was seen by literally millions of people.
A memorial service was held for Anderson in early August, giving people a chance to share their memories of Bob. decorahnews.com's Paul Scott posted his fond memories of "Mr. Bald Eagle"--
