Winneshiek County and Allamakee County veterans offices are organizing a veterans trip to the State Capitol

Winneshiek County and Allamakee County Veterans Affairs Offices are organizing a bus trip to Des Moines for Veterans Day at the State Capitol on January 20th.

The event will give veterans the opportunity to talk to their elected representatives about legislative issues, as well as to view booths set up at the Capitol and to take in a presentation at 10:00 a.m.

Winneshiek County veterans and their spouses will be picked up at 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20th, at the VFW in Decorah and at 5:45 a.m. at Kwik Star diesel pumps in Calmar.  The estimated time to be back in Decorah is around 5:30 p.m.  All participants are responsible for their own meals.
